Alizarin Violet Lake 940 Oil Stick

This relatively new medium allows oil painting to be approached differently. It extends the artist's freedom of expression, allowing a greater degree of spontaneity. 

Oil sticks have a similar composition to regular oil colours, except some neutral mineral wax is added to allow the colour to be formed into a stick. 

These colours are fully compatible with standard oil colours and have high pigment concentration and excellent light fastness. 

Oil Sticks can be used on all traditional oil painting supports. Unlike oil pastels, oil sticks should not be applied to unprimed paper. 

Oil sticks will form a thin dry surface film which should be removed before use. 

Standard oil painting mediums, solvents and varnishes can be used in conjunction with oil sticks.
