This knitting taster day is for you if you are a beginner knitter or interested in seeing what knitting is all about.
Maybe you haven’t knitted for many years and would like to get back into practice? Please come and join us at this wonderful starter knitter opportunity.

The mindful and relaxing benefits of knitting as a creative hobby have been much discussed in recent times. Enjoy a relaxing day with a supportive teacher and a lovely, like-minded group.

Meet your teacher, Amanda Hutcherson
Amanda is a lifelong, talented knitter with advanced qualifications in adult education. A background in healthcare and student mentorship adds to her understanding of your individual support and learning needs. Please join her for one to one attention in this very special, small group knitting taster day, you will not be disappointed.

Structure of the day
The day will begin at 10.00 with a short getting to know each other session and some discussion about looking after your mind and body with knitting.
Each of you will then receive individual help to get your knitting started and, as we progress through the day, knit a small toy or a cotton wash cloth of your choice.
During the day there will be an opportunity to explore different types of yarn and knitting tools and their uses to move you forward with your knitting choices.

We will pause for a coffee break in the morning and enjoy a 45

Teacher Qualifications
Amanda Hutcherson, RM, MA Academic Practice, PGCE,
30 years practice as a Nursing and Midwifery Council registered
midwife working in Aylesbury, Oxford and London, including 10 years
teaching midwifery and health care at City University of London.
