Between 1817 and 1818 Mary Shelley author of Frankenstein lived in Albion house in Marlow where she completed her famous novel. Her Husband the poet and playwright Percy Bysshe Shelley told a friend, “I am now on the point of taking a lease on a house among these woody hills, these sweet green fields and this delightful river.”
