Batts vary in weight because of the weight of different fibres, the quantity of fibre is roughly the same and each is as lovely as the last.
This batt weighs: 50g
Batts can be spun a number of different ways; striped into strips and spun short forward draw across the breadth, spun straight from the batt across the breadth. Spun from the middle of the batt. Spun from the fold. Quite frankly the possibilities are endless and each creates a unique yarn. Give 10 people the same batt and every skein of yarn will be different. This makes spinning from these light airy batts hugely exciting! How will you spin yours? Don't forget to share your yarn on our Ravelry group:
